Evidence of past climate change and glaciation. Raised beach platforms and an old raised sea cave caused by isostatic rebound near Oban Scotland UK. During an ice age the weight of ice on the land depresses it. Isostatic rebound is caused when the weight of ice is removed by melting. This causes the land to rebound and rise up leaving coastal features raised above the present day sea level.
